CAIR Content To Let Death Fatwa On Cartoonist Play Out?
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has advised
Seattle Weekly
cartoonist
Molly Norris to “go ghost”; i.e., disappear due to the
imposition of an Islamic Fatwa
calling for her death.
Norris’ crime was that she drew a cartoon of
Mohammed and cheekily
called for “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” in response to a TV episode of
the popular “South Park” series that censored the cartoon image of
Mohammed out of a well founded fear of physical attack from Islamist
terrorists.
The result of Norris’ tongue-in-cheek call for
“Draw Mohammed Day” was
that a facebook group started up and took seriously her flighty
challenge. Norris repudiated her call for the day, but it did no
good once the perpetually outraged “cleric” Anwar al-Awlaki issued
a Fatwa saying her “proper abode is Hellfire.”
Perhaps feeling the need to find some
protection from Islamic fanatics,
Norris hastily befriended Arsalan Bukhari of CAIR-Seattle as part of a
project she was working on. During an interview, Bukhari
said of the issue: “CAIR has a no tolerance policy for threats
of
violence”.
While Bukhari toes the party line on CAIR's
"policy"
of repudiating threats of violence, the simple fact is that Norris’
friendship with a CAIR official did absolutely nothing to nullify Anwar
al-Awlaki's Fatwa.
Norris
said: "You internalize the terror. The fear is real, it's
substantial. For me, for all of my life, I'll be on that list.”
So much for the friendship of “America’s
Premier Muslim Civil Rights
Group.” Molly Norris is condemned to a life of obscurity while
CAIR bleats that it doesn’t support "threats of violence."
Perhaps Molly Norris should not have taken
CAIR's bloated claims of
peace and bridge building at face value. CAIR officials not only held
the view that the man who placed a death sentence on her was once a
"respected"
Imam, several CAIR officials even attended
prayer services
(founder Nihad
Awad and convict Ismail Royer) and Islamic teaching
sessions (CAIR-San Diego officer Edgar Hopida) led by the Al Qaeda cleric. CAIR
officer Affad Shaikh has a blog
that still links
to
Anwar
al-Awlaki's website (now shut down). CAIR officials like Edgar Hopida
claim they had no idea Awlaki was radical, yet since the late 1990's
Awlaki
made recordings calling for Sharia law and called Jews "the enemy from Day 1 to the Day of
Judgment." Anwar al-Awlaki was Imam at the Dar
al-Hijrah mosque in
Falls Church, Va.
when
he blew a gasket over a raid on some Islamic charities and
business offices suspected of funding terror groups: "So this is
not now a war on
terrorism... This is a war
against Muslims! It is a war against Muslims and Islam. Not only is it
happening worldwide, but it's happening right here in America..."
CAIR has expressed respect
and reverence for "prominent
and known scholar" Sheikh
Yousuf Al-Qaradhawi, who recently proclaimed that an Islamic ban on
killing
the elderly, women, and children in wartime does not apply to the
citizens of Israel.
Al-Qaradhawi has expressed a wish that in his last days he goes out
fighting Allah's enemies: "Allah
will give me an opportunity to go to the land of Jihad and resistance,
even if in a wheelchair... I will shoot Allah’s enemies, the Jews, and
they will throw a bomb at me, and thus, I will seal my life with
martyrdom."
CAIR and their fellow travelers have great respect
for American cleric Zaid
Shakir who said: "Islam
doesn't permit us to hijack airplanes filled with
civilian people," ..."If you hijack an airplane filled with the 82nd
Airborne, that's something else." This "man of peace" who
spews treachery by religiously inspiring fellow Muslims to attack
soldiers of his own country is regularly invited to speak at CAIR
related
events.
CAIR has gone into to high gear to protect
another terror-supporting
Imam by the name of Kifah Mustapha. CAIR has brought a lawsuit against
the Illinois State
Police on behalf of Mustapha. Kifah
Mustapha was dropped from
the Illinois State Police chaplain program when it was revealed
he
was
a fundraiser and supporter
of Hamas
through his employment with the
Holy Land Foundation and association with CAIR's parent
organization,
the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). Mustapha performed at
fundraising events in a band that sang
such classic lyrics as: "O
Hamas, raise the banners of Jihad. The victory of
God comes through it or through martyrdom. O Hamas, teach us the
rifle..."
CAIR cannot be trusted to lift a finger to
protect fellow Americans
from the fanatical Fatwa frothings of the mad clerics of radical Islam.
CAIR respects, admires, and protects these Imams, seemingly content to
sit
back and watch potentially violent events unfold, their perverse
indifference obscured by claims of ignorance and
unaccountability.
By befriending CAIR to escape religious
fanatics, it appears Molly
Norris simply poked her nose into the lion's den.
