Official Arsalan Bukhari "Decries" Threat Against Cartoonist?

CAIR-Seattle executive director Arsalan
Bukhari has come out with a strong
statement against Anwar al-Awlaki's death threat fatwa
on cartoonist Molly
Norris for drawing the "Everybody
Draw Muhammad Day" cartoon. Bukhari
told the Washington Post: "What we
are doing locally is talking to
Muslim community leaders.... We are telling leaders: If they
receive a threat that even seems to be joking, it should be reported."
It is refreshing to see a CAIR officer
actually being truthful and who appears to have recognized Anti-CAIR's
warning
that there are Muslims in North America who
are potentially violent, and can be inspired through religious
fervor
to do harm to a non-Muslim that they believe has attacked Islam. As
Bukhari mentioned
in a separate interview, the very real threat to Molly Norris comes
from
Muslims in America, and he worries that someone here "will be incited by
the terrorist in Yemen." [If
Bukhari keeps this up, this could be the beginning of a beautiful
relationship with Anti-CAIR(!)]
Bukhari does side-step the crux of
the issue, which is how violent radical Islam is spread to
American-Muslims. He only goes as far as
wishing that
terrorist Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, who blessed and
praised the actions of Fort Hood killer Maj. Nidal Hasan and
underwear bomber Umar Abdulmutallab, would simply "retract" his fatwa
of death on Molly Norris.
Arsalan Bukhari must be recognized for
stepping outside the CAIR mold regarding Molly Norris and admitting
that there are Muslims here in America who are capable of doing
us harm and should be "reported." He does not elaborate who would
receive such a report. The FBI? Police? CAIR? Bukhari fails to
acknowledge, identify, and speak out against the potentially lethal
damage caused
by accepted
Muslim leaders, clerics,
and fellow CAIR
officials who embrace
and spread the violent
Islamist ideology that
poisons the Muslim well.
