Muthanna Al-Hanooti Was Active
CAIR-Michigan Director While He Was Spying For Saddam?
Revealed by the Investigative Project on
Terrorism, a CAIR press release
in June of 2000 touted Mr. Al-Hanooti as the new director of CAIR's
regional Michigan office. A federal
indictment shows that from 1999 through March 2003,
Al-Hanooti was illegally employed by the Iraqi government - as a Spy.
Mr. Al-Hanooti is accused, among other things,
of providing information to Iraqi Intelligence Services related to
lifting Sanction Regulations imposed on Iraq, and providing information
to the IIS related to members of the United States Congress. He is
alleged to have received 2 million barrels of oil for his efforts.
Given the indictment timeline, we can only
conclude that Muthanna
Al-Hanooti was an active
CAIR official while he committed alleged
crimes against the United States.
This should come as no surprise ...
