- CAIR:  Invoking the Islamist Double Standard?

On Sunday, 16 January, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a news brief with an item referring to the tsunami disaster.

In this item, CAIR deployed its full arsenal of anti-American propaganda:

1.  “CAIR called on the Bush administration to repudiate missionary groups that harm America's international image by seeking to exploit suffering…”

CAIR has confused the President with a dictator.  While President Bush does have the moral authority to repudiate any group, there is virtually no chance he will ever censor a peaceful religious group engaged in lawful activity.

2.  "in this heavily Muslim part of the world, millions have never even heard of Jesus Christ."

In the heavily Christian United States, millions had never even heard of Mohammed, but that has not stopped CAIR or its allies from attempting to import their brand of strict, hateful Islam into the U.S. CAIR can't have it both ways - if CAIR can spread its hate here, then why can't well meaning missionaries, who seek to provide aid to poor people who have been variously ignored or oppressed by their oil-rich Moslem brothers, preach their point of view?  What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Also, CAIR’s claim that Muslims revere Jesus as a “prophet”  is disingenuous in the extreme.   Muslims believe Jesus must bow down to Mohammed.  The Muslim claims are, of course, counter to the Christian view which holds Jesus to be the Son of God.

3.    "Just when our nation's image in the Islamic world was improving as a result of the outpouring of American aid in the tsunami disaster area, we hear from those who would exploit the tragedy to advance their own extremist agenda," said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad. "It is inappropriate and immoral for any religious group, whether Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist, to use badly-needed humanitarian relief as cover for conversion efforts."

Many Christian affiliations require their members to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.  But there is no evidence that any of the missionaries who have gone to provide humanitarian assistance have made conversion to Christianity as a "quid pro quo" for humanitarian aid. CAIR constantly demands that Americans “understand” Islam, but this statement clearly demonstrates that CAIR not only does not understand Christianity, they have no desire to learn about Christianity.  Where is CAIR' s so-called support for “diversity” and “acceptance”?  …or does this only apply to non-Muslims?

Once again, we see CAIR invoking the Islamist double-standard.

In light of CAIR’s well documented pattern of Ameriphobia and strong support for extremist Islamist positions,  …where is the outrage?
