ACAIR Questions CAIR's Smear Campaign against Mr. Joe Kaufman
The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has
issued a press release dated April 24, 2003 attacking Mr. Joe Kaufman (http://www.joe4rep.com/Links.htm)
for providing a link to the web site of the late Mr. Meir Kahane. CAIR
goes on to say that the web site of the Kach organization is listed as a
"foreign terrorist organization"? by the US State Department.
CAIR's attention to Mr. Kaufman's web site is the result
of Mr. Kaufman publishing a complaint regarding the use of CAIR affiliated
Muslims in diversity training in Florida public schools. Mr. Kaufman
reportedly made the statement that CAIR-FL (a local affiliate of CAIR, located
in Florida) is a "group that supports terrorists."
Mr. Altaf Ali, executive director of CAIR's Florida
office, stated: "It is beyond hypocritical for a person who uses defamatory
smears against CAIR, a mainstream civil rights group that has been consistent
in its repeated condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, to promote the
views of actual terrorists."
While ACAIR has nothing to
say regarding the feud between CAIR and Mr. Kaufman, we would like to point
out the hypocrisy of the CAIR organization in accusing Mr. Kaufman of supporting
terrorism:
1. Mr. Steve Pomerantz, the former Chief of Counterterrorism for
the FBI has stated: "CAIR, its leaders, and its activities, effectively give
aid to international terrorist groups."
2. Mr. Ibrahim Hooper, national communications director for CAIR,
described the attacks on September 11th, 2001, as "misunderstandings of
both sides." A senior member of CAIR describes the murders of over
3000 people as a "misunderstanding?"
3. Six suspected Islamic terrorists were recently arrested in Lackawanna,
N.Y. The government contends that two of the six possessed audiotapes
calling for jihad and martyrdom. What was CAIR's response?
4. CAIR has repeatedly failed to respond to terrorist attacks
committed by Islamists.
For CAIR to proclaim that it is a
"mainstream civil rights organization" would be laughable if it were not
so terrifying. CAIR repeatedly attacks the US government for taking
even the most rudimentary actions to protect the US mainland from Islamic
terrorists and is ready with a quick accusation of "Islamophobia" whenever
an Islamic is arrested for any crime. CAIR's national spokesman, Mr.
Ibrahim Hooper, repeatedly smears anyone who remotely disagrees with anything
he says, not allowing the truth to interfere with CAIR's version of events.
We believe Mr. Hooper to be "Ameriphobic."
ACAIR(http://www.anti-cair-net.org) is
a union of concerned Americans dedicated to shutting down the CAIR organization
in the United States. We believe CAIR supports terrorism and is an
insult to the American way of life.
