ACAIR Questions CAIR’s Ameriphobic Attack on World Net Daily Editor, Mr. Joseph Farah

On 29 April, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a press release (http://www.cair-net.org/asp/article.asp?id=1010&page=NR) accusing the editor of World Net Daily, (WorldNetDaily.com) Mr. Joseph Farah of inspiring readers to send “hate e-mail” to CAIR.  The apparent cause of the e-mail campaign was an article Mr. Farah authored (http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=32242) supporting the nomination of Mr. Daniel Pipes to the United States Institute of Peace.  ACAIR has noted CAIR’s attack on Mr. Pipes in a previous press release (http://anti-cair-net.org/press_001_03).  CAIR has stated that the threatening e-mails have been turned over to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for action.

ACAIR notes that CAIR, a self-described civil rights organization, is once again attempting to paint Muslims in the United States as a religious minority group under attack and requiring special protections not available to non-Muslim Americans.  For instance, to visit the CAIR web site, (http://www.cair-net.org) one would believe that Muslims are in fear of leaving their homes and under constant threat of verbal/physical attack.  A quick look at the year 2001 (http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/99hate.pdf) statistics show that CAIR’s worries about “Islamophobia” on the part of non-Islamic Americans is overblown.  For the year 2001, a total of 481 offenses for the seven million Muslims claimed to be in the United States by CAIR was documented.  Of these, there were 546 offenses and 554 victims.  Hardly an epidemic requiring special police protection.  When you consider that Jews experienced twice the number of incidents (1,043), with twice the victims, (1,196), once has to wonder just who needs the special protection?

ACAIR points out that Mr. Farah is just as entitled to his beliefs as CAIR is to theirs.  We also note that Mr. Farah has never expressed hatred for Muslims, only those radical Islamists who desire to change our government by unconstitutional means.  In contrast, CAIR has labeled the entire World Net Daily web site as “Islamophobic.”  How ironic when one considers that Mr. Farah has authored many columns on the Middle East and is a much sought-after speaker on the subject.  While CAIR prints bigoted Islamist propaganda in support of terrorism, Mr. Farah tells the truth and they hate him for it.

Perhaps CAIR should change its mission statement from being a “civil rights” organization to being an “Islamic terrorist rights” organization.  It would be a big step in telling the truth and a more accurate statement can’t be found for America’s premiere “Islamofascist” organization.

ACAIR is a group of dedicated Americans united to tell the truth about the Council on American Islamic Relations, believed to be a anti-American Islamist hate group based in Washington, D.C.
