CAIR:
Shutting Down Free Speech to Protect Islam?
The Council on
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has just concluded a successful
campaign to have National
Review magazine pull advertising for two
books that CAIR says were “…attacking the Prophet Mohammad…”.
These are some of the advertising items that
CAIR objected to in regard to the book, “The Life and Religions of
Mohammed”:
“…the
ugly truth about the founder of the world's most violent religion."
"…guide into the dark
mind of [the Prophet] Mohammed."
The other book, The Sword of the Prophet” was
advertised:
"What Muslims, multiculturalists, and the
media hope you never find out about Islam."
"gives us the
unvarnished, 'politically incorrect' truth about Islam -- including the
shocking facts
about its founder, Mohammed; its rise through bloody conquest; its
sanctioning of theft, deceit,
lust and murder."
It’s refreshing to see that CAIR demands for
Islam what it denies to others: respect
for point of views.
Numerous passages in the Koran, Islam’s holy
book, detail the life of Mohammed…the facts are there for anyone to
read. That the authors of these books took the time and made the
effort to examine Mohammeds life and report what they found should be
welcome in a free society. For instance, Islam denies that Jesus
is the Son of God, do we see any mainstream Christian group calling for
a ban on the Koran? Islamic teaching also details Mohammeds
marriage to
a girl under ten years of age; a fact not in dispute by any Muslim
sect. Have we seen a call for a ban on this teaching as it
records
deeds of pedophilia by the prophet?*
The reason
we don’t see any attacks on the Koran in the United States is simple: Americans are a tolerant people
and most feel that religion is a personal choice. However,
tolerance also means tolerance for other points of view; something
that the hateful bigots of CAIR will never understand.
What is it
about some American Muslims that makes them so weak, so fragile, so
incompentent that they feel they must rely on a Islamic hate group to
represent their interests?
