CAIR & FMAT:  Who is Speaking the Truth?

Recently, a rather new group to the battle against Islamic terrorism issued a call for peace in the form of a “March Against Terror” to be held in Washington DC on 14 May.  (ACAIR has previously noted this event.)

The Free Muslims Against Terror (FMAT) recently announced that they now have around 70 groups supporting the march.

One group that is noticeable for its absence is the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).  Why has CAIR refused to join with other American Muslims in a show of solidarity?

  These are a few possibilities:

1.  What would the CAIR representative say?  Statements like, “I support the Hamas movement” probably wouldn’t go over well with a group of American Muslims opposed to Islamic terror.

2.  Who would speak for CAIR?  Following the recent convictions of yet another group of CAIR officials…are there any CAIR leaders left who are willing to speak in public?

3.  Knowing CAIR’s history…just how welcoming would a group of free American Muslims be to a representative from an Islamic hate group?

Once again, the silence from CAIR is…deafening.

…and just where is the “mainstream media” on this issue?
