CAIR:  Providing Services to Wayward Travelers?

The St. Petersburg Times carried an interesting article on April 13 about a passenger detained on arrival at Tampa International Airport:

The passenger, Iraqi born Safana Jawad, currently living in Spain, was informed on arrival that she was barred from entering the US because she is apparently connected to someone that federal authorities view as “suspicious”.  Homeland Security Department officials declined to identify the suspicious person.

A member of Jawad’s ex-husband’s family called the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Tampa office to secure legal representation for Jawad.  As usual, CAIR did not disappoint.  Ahmed Bedier, director of CAIR’s Tampa office, and a volunteer attorney met with Jawad at the maximum-security wing of the Pinellas County jail.

Instead of attempting to get to the truth of the matter, Bedier issued a statement totally at odds with the current situation:

"It's frustrating that innocent families are torn apart because of these types
of campaigns…it seems on the surface of it to be racial profiling rather than
for security. It sends the wrong message and it hurts everything
we are doing overseas."

Bedier, once again, resorts to CAIR’s tired old mantra, - If you have no facts to back up your case, throw out nonsense about families, racial profiling, and “sending the wrong message”.

     And will Bedier explain:

     - What this has to do with racial profiling?  (There is no evidence to support this accusation.)

     - What “wrong message” is being sent?  That the US will not tolerate the entrance of those who may come here to harm us?  Why isn’t CAIR supporting law enforcement?

From Kubba, Jawad’s ex-husband, we hear that he believes that his ex-wife was singled out because she wears a head scarf.

     A head scarf!

Yes, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has nothing better to do than chase after visitors entering our country who are…wearing scarves!  If this ridiculous accusation were true, how come we don’t hear complaints from Mennonite’s, Sikh’s, Jews, and other faiths whose customs require them to wear head coverings?

CAIR, Jawad, and Kubba simply do not understand that foreign citizens have no “right” to enter the United States at will.

CAIR still refuses to understand that all Americans are equal before the law and that no person is entitled to special treatment based on their faith…especially foreigners who may be associated with those who are suspect ...
