Anti-CAIR Founder Responds to CAIR Lawsuit

On April 1st, 2004, I was sued by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) for libel.  In the suit, CAIR asks for damages amounting to 1.3 million.

I am very pleased to announce that the firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, with offices throughout the United States and Europe has agreed to represent me.  On May 3rd, 2004, they filed a response to the CAIR suit that includes detailed counterclaims under state and federal law.

America, unique among nations, values and protects freedom of speech.  This freedom is of particular importance when it comes to issues of public concern.

CAIR may not like what I have to say and they are free to take issue with me in the marketplace of ideas, where everyday they take advantage of our Constitution.  CAIR takes advantage of our freedom of speech, protected over the years by generations of servicemen and women to broadcast their radical message.  However, they are not free to silence me.

This litigation is a battle I do not want, but is one we are going to fight, and I fully expect to win.

Hypocrisy, CAIR Style, Militant Islamist Speaks

On Monday, 3 May 2004, the BBC News carried a story about the murder of five Israelis in Gaza.  The Islamist terrorist groups, “Islamic Jihad” and the “Popular Resistance Committee” claimed responsibility for the attack.

Terror murdered in the attack were: Mrs. Hatuel, 34 (eight months pregnant) and her daughters: Hila (11), Hadar (9), Roni (7) and Merav (2).  The sole surviving family member, Mr. Hatuel was overheard at the funeral saying, “I am all alone, there is no one left.”  He referred to his daughters as his “flowers”.

The Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), made the following comment at an interfaith event shortly after the militant Islamist terror attacks of 9-11:

“…those who attack civilians are wrong.”

The Executive Director, Ghazi Khankan then explained:

“Anyone over eighteen is automatically inducted into the service and they are all reserves.  Therefore, Hamas in my opinion looks at them as part of the military.  Those who are below 18 should not be attacked.”

Anti-CAIR (ACAIR) has carefully researched the CAIR-NY web site and the national CAIR web site for an official condemnation of this heinous terror murder and haven’t yet found one.  Why is Khankan reluctant to condemn the terror-murders of Jewish children?  What is it about this man that he cannot bring himself to condemn the militant Islamists who terror-murdered these children in the name of “Allah”?

Once again, CAIR is quick to condemn any event they consider “anti-Islamic”, but is silent to the terror-murders of Jewish children committed in the name of “Allah.”  How sad.

…but what else can we expect from America’s leading “Muslim Civil Rights Organization” which believes that civil rights are exclusively reserved for militant Islamists and their supporters?
