NASA – Taking Culture Lessons from CAIR?

NASA – Taking Culture Lessons from CAIR?

Next Wednesday, July 7, 2004, the Islamic Study Group, sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will be presenting a “Sensitivity and Diversity Workshop” for NASA employees and managers.  And just who will be providing this “training”?  America’s “premier Islamic Civil Rights Group”, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Yes, CAIR, the organization that has never met an Islamist terrorist they wouldn’t defend, will now teach NASA about Islam in Americaagain!

ACAIR took the opportunity of e-mailing NASA, warning them about CAIR’s past and asking them to reconsider inviting an Islamist terrorist supporting group.  NASA’s response?  Silence.

We ask, again, what is it about Islam that is so sensitive and delicate that all non-Muslim Americans must be trained in how to react to them?  Why is Islam, above all other religions in the United States today, being taught in American institutions?

What about Christians? Have Christians ever been invited to NASA to speak about multiculturalism and diversity?  How about the Jews?  Any invites for them to discuss their culture?

Why would NASA invite CAIR to speak to them when CAIR personnel are not allowed in the White House?  What special insight does CAIR present about Islam that NASA can’t get from some other Islamic group that isn’t hell-bent on destroying America as we know it?

What next, inviting the KKK to brief NASA about the problems of African Americans?  Inviting NAZI’s to speak about a “solution to the Jewish question” in the Middle East?

NASA, be warned, no good can come from associating with CAIR.  In doubt?  Call the Secret Service and ask why CAIR is no longer on the White House guest list.

The Islamic Study Group (ISG) is a NASA sponsored employee club.  (There is also a Bible Club).

Let’s turn this around…what if this e-mail had been written by a Catholic who wanted to explain the Trinity to the workshop attendee’s and how this would affect the work place…would NASA have allowed this?  What if a Rabbi had wanted to speak about how the Talmud affects the work environment?  How long would it have taken for NASA to shut down the workshop?  We’re not holding our breaths waiting for NASA to sponsor a Hindu cultural workshop…

Finally…this isn’t the first time that CAIR has provided “Sensitivity and Diversity” workshops for the oppressors of Islam at NASA.  Just how many Wahhabi indoctrination…sorry…”training” sessions do NASA employees need?

…and why do they need it in the first place?

For our readers who choose to visit the ISG’s web site hosted by NASA, we ask that they take a look at the ISG’s “links” page.  Then, compare the names on this list to the list provided by Dr. Pipes’ on his web page.

Well…we’ll say one thing for CAIR and their friends, they are consistent!

CAIR “Observes” FBI Raid on Saudi-based Virginia Institute

On July 1, 2004, a task force of agents, including those from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided the offices of the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia.  The Institute, which is Saudi Arabia based, had served as a meeting place for men conspiring to support terrorism.

The most startling part of this report was not that agents had raided the Institute, but that lawyers from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) were on hand to “observe” the raid after being called by an institute staffer.  This raises two very troubling questions:

1.  Why did the institute staffer call a CAIR attorney?  How is it that the institute had CAIR’s number?  What other potentially subversive groups have CAIR’s attorney on speed-dial?

2.  What is the connection between CAIR and the Institute, which is responsible for training Islamic chaplains for the armed forces?  Isn’t it odd that when military Islamic chaplains are in the news, CAIR is somehow in the picture?

Arsalan Iftikhar, CAIR’s director of legal affairs, made this comment:

“We were called by somebody at the institute to make sure that people’s due-process rights are respected…that everything was legal”

It’s awfully nice of Mr. Iftikhar to be so overly concerned for people’s “due-process” rights.  Too bad CAIR doesn’t seem to have any respect for non-Muslim Americans free speech rights?  But, we suppose, perhaps “rights” only apply to Islamist terrorists and their supporters?  How nice…if you happen to be a militant Islamist.

Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman, had this to say about the raid:

“We’re concerned that this may be perceived in the Muslim community as a fishing expedition.”

Once again, CAIR, an organization that supports Islamist terrorism, is speaking for the “Muslim community.”  What nerve.  American law enforcement is taking prudent steps to protect all Americans from the threat of Islamist terror and CAIR is concerned that someone’s feelings might be hurt?  While we can’t speak for the America-haters of CAIR, we’d much rather see someone’s feelings hurt than see another plane flown into a tower full of innocent Americans.  If Mr. Hooper of CAIR can’t see that…well…what can you say?  Once again, CAIR has clearly demonstrated that the peace and safety of all Americans is of no concern where Muslims are involved.

When Are Americans Going to Demand Accountability?

For many years, the majority of Americans have stood by and watched the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) DEMAND “rights” for Muslims in America.  One can suppose, as a “civil-rights” group, that it is their place to do so.  However, we find it curious that while CAIR is constantly claiming that American is hotbed of Islamophobia…we see them doing almost nothing to prevent it.

     For instance:

1.  When was the last time CAIR published a booklet for the Muslim community explaining how they can interface with law enforcement?  We see a booklet on their web site entitled: Law Enforcement Official's Guide to the Muslim Community.”  Where is the booklet entitled: “How Muslims Can Assist Law Enforcement Officials.”  Do not Muslims, as law-abiding Americans, have a civic responsibility to protect the collective community for the threat of Islamist terrorists?  Who better to police their community than they?

2.  CAIR trumpets “open houses” at various mosques, but when was the last time a Christian, Jew, or other religion’s religious leader(s) were invited to a Wahhabi-backed mosque to speak about their faith?  While CAIR is more than happy to explain the five pillars of Islam and other requirements of the Muslim faith, when was the last time a Catholic priest was invited to speak about the trinity?  Hmmm?

3.  Why is it that CAIR cannot rationally discuss their positions in the public arena?  Why is it that both Dr. Pipes and Steve Emerson are immediately branded as Islamophobes by CAIR representatives?  Why does CAIR resort to the lawsuit when they fail to gain acceptance among Americans for their bankrupt ideas?  Cannot CAIR’s representatives calmly articulate their position in the free market place of ideas without reverting to name-calling or running to the courts for relief?

It’s long past time for CAIR to understand that recess is over and it’s time to come in off the playground and begin to act like adults.

If CAIR is the best that the Islamic community can come up with in the United States…well…all we can say is that it speaks poorly for them.  The Muslim community won’t win very many friends when their self-proclaimed leaders bash America at every opportunity.  Americans, as a whole, are a tolerant lot…we don’t terror-murder people as a matter of state policy and we welcome most anyone to our shores who is willing to do their part to uphold the American dream.

Yes, American citizenship confers many rights…but citizenship imposes demands as well.  Isn’t it too bad that CAIR is so focused on “rights” that they can’t see the harm they are doing to the Muslim community?

We urge all American Muslims to re-consider their support for CAIR.  But, don’t take our word for it…contact CAIR and get their opinion on a variety of subjects…read their material and listen to the words of their spokesmen and keep in mind that most Americans believe they are speaking for you!  Do you really want the people of CAIR speaking for you?  Do you really want Americans to believe that CAIR is the “voice of Islam”?
