Holy Land Foundation Indicted on Islamist Terrorism Related Charges

     A federal grand jury in Texas has indicted the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), the largest Muslim charity in the U.S., on charges of providing financial support to the Islamist terror group Hamas.

     The grand jury accused the foundation (and seven of its leaders) of supporting a foreign terrorist organization, money laundering and filing false tax returns.  HLF assets were frozen following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, on orders of the Bush administration. 

     Let’s take a look at some of the particulars in the indictment:

1.  Providing financial support for Hamas:  according to the indictment, Hamas exists “to create an Islamic Palestinian state throughout Israel by eliminating the state of Israel through violent jihad…”  In addition, the HLF rewarded past suicide bombing by sending money to families of Hamas terrorists killed or jailed by the Israeli government. 

     How do you eliminate a state?  Ask it to leave?  What do you do with the people?  Hamas has a simple solution: kill every non-Muslim they can get their hands on.  …and who was one of the first groups to come to the defense of the HLF?  Yes, CAIR.  We can’t wait to see how CAIR will spin this story as another example of American “Islamophobia”.    

2.  HLF cloaked its activities by giving minimal support to legitimate charities.  They did this to gain “a cloak of legitimacy and conceal its relationship to Hamas.”  In other words, they used an old mafia trick: set up a “legitimate” charity and pretend to be something you aren’t.  Just how many Americans were tricked into giving money for the aid of refugees…only to find out the money was for the support of Islamist terrorists?...That their money has been used to terror-murder innocent men, women and children…{remember, in the Hamas mindset, even babies who are born non-Muslim are legitimate targets}…and this is the group that CAIR rallied behind. 

    So…HLF raises money to buy bullets to kill babies who are unfortunate enough to be born non-Muslim and CAIR defends them? 

     The HLF had its cause championed by the Council on American – Islamic Relations (CAIR) on more than one occasion.  In fact, at one time a link was on CAIR’s web site directing donations to a “9-11” fund to the HLF.  Is it just possible that CAIR facilitated the financial duping of Americans saddened by the terrorist attacks to the very people who danced in the streets of “Palestine” on the news of the falling of the towers? 

     While it should be remembered that an indictment is not a conviction, we are glad that the government has finally brought HLF to the bar of justice.  We are hopeful that as the trial unfolds, all Americans will be able to judge for themselves the merits of the case and insight into the minds of militant Islamists who hate Americans for the simple crime of being born non-Muslim.

     One of the indicted conspirators should be familiar to our readers: Ghassan Elashi, founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, whom we’ve written about previously.    

CAIR, Attempting to Silence Another Voice in Opposition to Islamist Terror

     On July 26, 2004, the Council on American – Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a news release condemning the words of Malcolm Hoenlein.  Hoenlien is the director of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.  In their press release, CAIR called for Hoenlien to “step down from his post following revelations that he made anti-Muslim comments to an Israeli media outlet.”

     In their news release, CAIR linked to an article in Maariv International to justify their condemnation, in particular:

"Europe is the current Moslem battlefield, but America is their ultimate goal. There are already 10 Moslem schools in New York, and my feeling is that despite growing post-9/11 awareness, there is still a degree of naiveté among Americans. I warned against the growing US Moslem community 10 years ago, but nobody understood it then. It is estimated that there are currently around 10 million Moslems in the US illegally and the authorities are finding it very difficult to find them. It's like a game of cat and mouse."

     This is what CAIR bases their charge on?  This is the best that they can do?  Did Hoenlein call Muslims “the enemies of Allah, descendants of apes and pigs”?  Has Hoenlein preached in a synagogue that Muslims be killed wherever they are found?  Was Hoenlein part of the crowd that celebrated, in the United States, the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001? 

     Can anyone imagine Hoenlien telling a crowd “Judaism isn't in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Torah, the Jewish book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Judaism the only accepted religion on Earth." 

      We can’t…why?  Simple: Judaism, like most other religions, has a set of core beliefs that reject such hateful values. 

     Hoenlein spoke the truth.  Europe is under assault from Islamists mixed among the significant Muslim community.  The United States is largely ignorant of the threat.  We do have a problem with illegal aliens in our country.  Where is the lie? 

     Yet, the skinheads at CAIR are pouring gasoline on a match, hoping that an ignorant journalist will pick up this “story” and report it as fact.  Now, let’s review a bit, shall we?  CAIR has had five major personalities imprisoned in the past year or so…their fellow travelers over at the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) have been indicted…and CAIR has their intestines in a knot because a Jew dares to speak the truth?  We’re only surprised that CAIR hasn’t called on the FBI to investigate Hoenlien for committing a “hate” crime.   

     We’d like to say “thank you” to whomever wrote this news release for CAIR for the continuing insight it gives all Americans into the mind of Islamists and their boot lickers.
