-          CAIR Condemns Terrorists?

               CAIR Condemns Terrorists?

On October 4, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a press release condemning the recent bombing of a restaurant in Haifa, Israel.  The Islamic terror group, Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the attack. The statement by CAIR read, in part:

“CAIR condemns this vicious attack in the strongest possible terms.  The bombing is particularly loathsome, coming as it did on the eve of the Jewish community’s holiest day.

We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and call for the swift apprehension of the perpetrators.”

Interesting.  CAIR, an Islamic Jihad Islamic terror supporting group, fails to mention that Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for the terror murder of innocent men, women, children and babies.  Why?  Would it have been too much trouble to add this simple line to their press release?:

“CAIR condemns this attack, perpetrated by the Islamic Jihad terror group.”

Would that have been so hard to do?  Note to CAIR: Please feel free to use the above statement in the future, you needn’t acknowledge our assistance, we’re glad to help.  We of ACAIR hope that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will soon give Mr. Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesperson, permission to condemn Islamic terror groups by name.

On October 5, 2003, CAIR issued another press release, condemning the State of Israel for responding to the terror murders of 19 citizens on 4 October.  The CAIR statement said, in part:

Israel’s attack was a clear violation of international law and of Syria’s national sovereignty”

CAIR condemns Israel for bombing a terrorist training camp and violating the national sovereignty of a terrorist supporting dictatorship and has nothing to say about Islamic Jihad violating Israel’s national sovereignty by sending in a terror-bombing murderer?  Mr. Hooper, care to explain this?

CAIR’s statement becomes even more bizarre:

“Just as we condemned yesterday’s suicide bombing in Haifa, we also condemn Israel’s aggression against Syria.  This reckless action demonstrates Israel’s complete disregard for the norms of international conduct.  It can only serve to perpetuate the tragic cycle of violence that has engulfed the Middle East for so many years.”

CAIR is saying, in effect, that as they condemned the terror bombing of 4 Oct, they have the same right to condemn the actions of the Israeli’s.  But do they?  Has Israel disregarded the “norms of international conduct”?  Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya and  Lebanon (under the orders of Syria) all support the terror attacks on Israel and CAIR has absolutely NOTHING to say.  Israel attacks a known (Syria did not deny it was a terrorist training camp) terrorist training camp and CAIR immediately becomes indignant?  Why does CAIR hold Israel to a standard they hold no other country in the Middle East to?  Mr. Hooper, would you like to answer this question?

CAIR finally steps beyond the bounds of decency:

“We urge President Bush to dissuade Israel from carrying out such counterproductive attacks in the future.  He should also end his administration’s one-sided support for Israel’s brutal actions against the Palestinian people.  It is this imbalance in foreign policy that continues to harm America’s image and interests worldwide.

Our government must become a real advocate for a comprehensive political solution that takes into account the rights of all parties to the conflict.”

Israel makes a surgical strike against a known terrorist training camp and CAIR calls this “counterproductive”?  Really?  This may come as a shock to CAIR, but dead terrorists cannot attack Israel, or anyone else.  The only failing on the part of Israel in this justified counter attack was not following up with attacks on other terrorist training camps.  As for President Bush “dissuading” Israel from attacking, CAIR forgets that Israel is a sovereign nation and President Bush is not the president of Israel.  As for America’s image and interests worldwide, since when has CAIR given a damn about America’s reputation?  As we of ACAIR recall, CAIR rarely has anything good to say about America.

Why is it that CAIR will condemn Israel by name, but refuses to condemn Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and all the other Islamic terror supporting organizations that terror-murder innocent civilians?

Care to handle this, Mr. Hooper?

Ibrahim Hooper, Incapable of Telling the Truth?

On September 29, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued an “American Muslim News Brief” containing an article by Mr. Jeff Johnson of CNSNews.  The article details the actions of two Senators who are calling for a full investigation of terrorists attempts to recruit members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Why is this article important?  In it, Mr. Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesperson, states:

“They assign the terms ‘Wahhabi, extremist, militant’ to practically every Muslim organization, every Muslim leader in America, except the hand-picked few that they agree with.”

     Mr. Hooper continues:

“No Muslim calls themselves a ‘Wahhabi’ and, in fact, most would be insulted if you called them a ‘Wahhabi.’  It’s a made-up word by those who don’t want to appear to be attacking Islam…”

So, no Muslim calls themselvesWahhabi”, but they’d be insulted if you called them a “Wahhabi”?  We of ACAIR do not understand the distinction, perhaps Mr. Hooper can explain?

Let’s shift our attention to the town of Najaf, Iraq.  In an article by Mr. Stephen Schwartz of The Weekly Standard, he tells the story of what happened following a bombing that killed a popular Islamic religious leader.

“The Saudi authorities customarily rejected any claim that their subjects were involved and demanded proof of the charge.  Yet according to dissident Saudis, over the Labor Day weekend a brief report in the Saudi media stated that a group of Wahhabi clerics had met with King Fahd, who told them they had to stop preaching jihad against the world,  The Wahhabis replied that because of repression against extremists imposed on Saudi territory under American pressure, Wahhabi’s were heading to Iraq to sanctuary and the opportunity to die as martyrs.”

Mr. Schwartz continues:

“…Shia mourners marched in Iraq chanting ‘La ilaha illallahWahhabi adwu allah’—‘There is only one God—Wahhabis are God’s enemies.”

Would Mr. Hooper like to tell these Muslims that there is no such thing as a “Wahhabi”?

Mr. Schwartz writes:

“…the Iraqi media were filled with articles condemning the Saudi’s and the Wahhabis in the most extreme terms.  For example, ‘May Allah destroy the House of Saud and their brutal Wahhabism.’”

So, once again, we see Mr. Hooper covering the dirty tracks of Wahhabi Islam.  As a supporter of terrorism himself, Mr. Hooper cannot condemn those with whom he finds common cause.  This brings the obvious question: Why does any media organization listen to anything this lying Islamic terrorism supporter has to say?  Why are Mr. Hooper and his fellow Islamic terrorism supporters allowed to carry on their campaign of support for Islamic terrorists?

Would any senior member of law enforcement care to answer this question?
