CAIR Whines and SeethesJoins Boycott of Iftaar Dinner

Just what is it that has the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) spokesman, Mr. Ibahim Hooper so upset?  Why is the Executive Director of American Muslims for Jerusalem (AMJ), Mr. Khalid Turahni so concerned?

Could it be that both organizations weren’t invited to this years Iftaar dinner at the White House?  Is it just possible that President Bush had no desire to break bread with supporters of Islamist terrorism?  Had the President come to the rational conclusion that Hamas supporters have nothing to add to the national discussion on Islamist terror and it would be an insult to all Americans to see either Mr. Hooper or Mr. Turahni in the White House?

Has President Bush drawn the line between Islamics(*) and Islamists?  Could it be that the President no longer has any tolerance for CAIR’s support of Islamist terror?  Is it possible that CAIR’s association with Islamist terrorism suspects has made an unfavorable impression on the White House?

The White House denies the exclusion of nation Muslim organizations.  However, Mr. Turahni has challenged this assertion, along with Mr. Hooper who has stated:

"We need to see real policy meetings in order to see the Iftaar meeting as credible.”

So, just what is Mr. Hooper saying?  That the Iftaar dinner isn’t credible unless CAIR says it is?  That the President of the
United States
cannot hold a “credible” Iftaar dinner unless it has the blessings of Mr. Hooper and the other Hamas supporters at CAIR?  That the President, hosting a dinner in celebration of the end of Ramadan cannot do so unless CAIR “approves” the event?

In addition, Mr. Hooper made another of his trademark, ridiculous statements:

“We need to see regular, productive, policy-based meetings”

The administration of the
United States must have regular, productive, policy-based meetings with a terrorist supporting organization?  If this weren’t so tragic, it would be laughable to suggest that any rational government would want to engage in any conversation with CAIR or AMJ.  It would be the same as asking the NAACP to meet with the KKK to discuss racial policy.

What did CAIR and AMJ hope to accomplish by attending the Iftaar dinner at the White House?  Another handshaking photo op with the President?  More propagandizing about the peaceful, loving ways of Wahhabi Islam?

What was the response of CAIR and AMJ to not being invited to the Iftaar dinner?  Was it taken as an opportunity for inward reflection?  Did CAIR or AMJ seek to open dialogue with the White House?  Did either make any effort to present rational reasons as to why they should have been invited to represent American Muslims with the President?

Sadly, no.  Instead, CAIR issued a press release that ends:

“The Bush administration unfair foreign policy is responsible for the deaths of innocent Muslims overseas.

Muslim American leadership should send a message to President Bush that we will no longer suffer and be mistreated by his administrations unfair domestic and foreign policies.

We are urging all Muslim leaders who will receive an invitation by the White House for President Bush's upcoming 2003 Iftaar dinner to decline the invitation, and support our boycott of this event. Let President Bush eat by himself at his Ramadan dinner.”

(Copied exactly as written)

CAIR asserts that the President’s foreign policy is responsible for the deaths of innocent Muslims overseas.  However, as usual, the claim is long on innuendo and short on facts.  CAIR fails to mention the name of even one innocent Muslim who has been killed as a result of the President’s foreign policy.

CAIR says the Muslim American leadership should send a message to President Bush that “We will no longer suffer and be mistreated by his administrations unfair domestic and foreign policies.”  Again, more breast beating and bleating about Muslims being denied their civil rights with nary a fact to back up their ridiculous statement.

The boycott announcement continues:  “We are urging all Muslim leaders who will receive an invitation by the White House for President Bush's upcoming 2003 Iftaar dinner to decline the invitation, and support our boycott of this event. Let President Bush eat by himself at his Ramadan dinner.”  How nice.  The Islamist terror supporters at CAIR are not invited to dinner at the White House and their response is to ask those who were invited to not attend?  That is the best CAIR can do?  No reasoned arguments?  No presentation of facts to support an invitation for them?  No, just a childish, “We weren’t invited, so you shouldn’t go either.”

The Islamic Supreme Council of America's Jamaluddin Hoffman said to Foxnews.com,

"...although the guest list at the White House dinner reads like a who's who from Embassy Row's Muslim quarters, his presence at the event shows that national Muslim-American groups were included at the table."

Is it possible that President Bush did invite leading American Muslim leaders to the White House for the Iftaar dinner and CAIR/AMJ were not invited because they do not represent Islam in
America?  Could this be the truth that has Mr. Hooper and Mr. Turahni so upset?  They see the sun setting on their perverted interpretation of Islam and they don’t like it?

Mr. Hooper, Mr. Turahni:  Get used to it.

The days of pandering to Islamist extremists is over.  The American people will not support a president who is soft on terrorism.  CAIR/AMJ represent and support those who practice militant Islam.  The President knows it.  The American people know it.  Deal with it.

(*)  We loosely define a Muslim as an Islamic if they practice peaceful Islam, obey the laws of our country and share in the American dream.  We define Islamists as Muslims who pervert and insult their god by engaging in terrorist acts in his name.
