CAIR Opposes War in Iraq, Supports Apprehension of Saddam Hussein

     On 14 December, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), issued a news release welcoming the news that former Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein had been captured.  In the same news release, CAIR issued this statement:

 "As we continue to oppose the war in Iraq, we hope the capture of Saddam Hussein creates a window of opportunity for peace and reconciliation. He must be brought before an international tribunal and then punished for the death and devastation his tyrannical rule imposed on that long-suffering nation and its neighbors.

"Hussein's capture should also facilitate the rapid transfer of sovereignty to a representative Iraqi government and the swift withdrawal of American military forces. It is now time for the Iraqi people, free of despotic rule or foreign occupation, to take control of their own destiny." 

          In an American Muslim News Brief dated December 16, 2003 (Link not available), CAIR printed a statement by Mr. Ahmed Bedier, communications director for the Florida branch of CAIR.  This is the partial text of Mr. Bedier’s comments:

 “On behalf of the Florida office of the Council in American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Community of Tampa Bay, we welcome the capture of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.  Now that he is captured, Hussein should be tried by an international tribunal court and then punished for the death and devastation he imposed on the Iraqi people.

As we at CAIR continue to oppose the war in Iraq, we hope the capture of Saddam Hussein creates a window of opportunity for peace and reconciliation.

Hussein’s capture should also facilitate the rapid transfer of sovereignty to a representative Iraqi government and the swift withdrawal of American military forces.  It is now time for the Iraqi people, free of despotic rule or foreign occupation, to take control of their own destiny.

What I would recommend is an immediate transfer or very quick transfer of power of the governing to the Iraqi people, but remain there more as peacekeeping not as an occupying force.

As long as America is seen by the Iraqis as an occupying force they’ll continue to defy it and continue to resist it.”

     Once again, CAIR wants it both ways.  They welcome the apprehension of Saddam Hussein while at the same time they oppose the war that effected the capture.   Would CAIR have preferred that the rape rooms remain open for business?  That Muslim women be raped by thuggish rapists in front of their husbands?  Muslim children jailed in special “children’s prisons?”  Muslims fed into industrial plastic shredders? 

     Why can’t CAIR be upfront and admit that they support Islamic terrorism and dictatorships?  Is CAIR worried that their donation base will dry up if people learn their true agenda?  What do these Islamist terrorism supporters have to hide?

     CAIR has also called on an “international tribunal court” to hold Saddam Hussein accountable to the Iraqi people.  ACAIR does not support this view. 

      Saddam Hussein is an Iraqi citizen and the crimes he stands accused of occurred primarily in Iraq. 

      Mr. Bedier says that Iraqis are now ready for self-government, but they cannot constitute a court in which to try Hussein? 

      A predominantly Muslim country cannot field a court capable of fairly judging Hussein? 

      Would Mr. Bedier care to explain to Muslim Iraqis why he feels they are not capable of handling their own judicial affairs? 

      We of ACAIR will not be holding our breaths waiting for an answer.

    Mr. Bedier goes on to recommend the transfer of governing power to the Iraqi people and that the coalition forces remain in place as a “peacekeeping” force.  Interesting.

     Mr. Bedier wants the coalition to essentially provide police forces for the new Iraqi government - is he saying that the new government would not be legitimate unless the coalition was there to back it up? 

     Does Mr. Bedier really believe that Iraqis would accept coalition troops acting as a police force? - that the American people would stand for a permanent peacekeeping force in Iraq? 

     Are the Iraqi people so incapable that they will never be able to protect themselves from the terrorist and criminal element? - are Muslims so delicate that they require the permanent protection of predominantly Christian soldiers? 

     For shame, Mr. Bedier, as a Muslim, you should know better.

Follow up / Six Questions, Where are the Answers, Mr. Hooper? 

     In press release Nr. 021/03 (dtd August 25, 2003), ACAIR covered the story of Ms. Rachel Neuwirth’s interaction with Mr. Ibrahim Hooper, communications director for CAIR national headquarters.  Mr. John Rudolph, ACAIR assistant director, had an opportunity to speak with Ms. Neuwirth recently and asked her if Mr. Hooper had responded to her six questions? 

     Her reply?  “Not yet”

     Figures.

     How about it, Mr. Hooper?  Would you care to comment? 

Paul Harvey?

     On December 10, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), issued an American Muslim News Brief concerning some on-air comments made by Mr. Paul Harvey, a nationally syndicated radio commentator.  CAIR writes:

“In his December 4th commentary, Harvey described the bloody nature of cock fight gambling in Iraq and said: "Add to the thirst for blood a religion which encourages killing, and it is entirely understandable if Americans came to this bloody party unprepared." 

     Predictably, CAIR went into immediate attack mode and encouraged people to contact Mr. Harvey and his sponsors to encourage a retraction.  The attack had the desired results and Mr. Harvey was quick with the apology, labeling Islam “a religion of peace”. 

     We of ACAIR believe that there are two faces of Islam, peaceful Islam and the nefarious branch of Islam, Wahhabi Islam, as practiced and supported by the Islamist terrorism supporters of CAIR. 

      While Mr. Harvey may have felt it necessary to make an on-air apology, we of ACAIR are glad that he did not apologize to CAIR or their fellow travelers.

     Interestingly, CAIR has failed to intimidate Dr. Laura Schlessinger into making an apology for her on-air comments regarding a visit to an Islamic mosque by a Christian student.  We of ACAIR salute her stand in opposition to the bigoted tactics of CAIR and their supporters.

 CAIR: Israel trains U.S. assassination squads in Iraq  

     On December 10, 2003, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) posted an American Muslim News Brief on their web site indicating that Israeli advisors are assisting in the training of American special forces in aggressive counter-insurgency operations in Iraq. 

     We quote the posting, in full: 

“Israeli advisers are helping train US special forces in aggressive counter-insurgency operations in Iraq, including the use of assassination squads against guerrilla leaders, US intelligence and military sources said yesterday.

The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has sent urban warfare specialists to Fort Bragg in North Carolina, the home of US special forces, and according to two sources, Israeli military "consultants" have also visited Iraq.

US forces in Iraq's Sunni triangle have already begun to use tactics that echo Israeli operations in the occupied territories, sealing off centres of resistance with razor wire and razing buildings from where attacks have been launched against US troops.

But the secret war in Iraq is about to get much tougher, in the hope of suppressing the Ba'athist-led insurgency ahead of next November's presidential elections.

US special forces teams are already behind the lines inside Syria attempting to kill foreign jihadists before they cross the border, and a group focused on the "neutralisation" of guerrilla leaders is being set up, according to sources familiar with the operations... “

     ACAIR welcomes the news that American special forces are in the lead, taking the war to the enemy and helping to stop attacks in Iraq.  We wish our troops, and coalition troops, well in their fight against Islamist religious terror.  We thank the Israeli government and the IDF for helping to train our troops in effective counter-terrorism operations.

     ACAIR receives many e-mail inquiries requesting information on CAIR and CAIR’s terrorism-supporting personalities and policies.  However, we occasionally receive e-mail that is a bit out of the ordinary and would like to share the following with our readers:

When you're being oppressed, to the point of comtemplating suicide, by Jews who are being funded by the USA, the only thing you will do is hate them and their funders. Why don't you guys tell the Israelis to stay in their designated territory, stop beating up the Palestinians since they have rocks as weapons and not uzis, and most of all, why don't you stop SUPPORTING THEM. The US and Israel asks for what happens to them.

    In addition to all of this, what has CAIR done to the USA other than try to bring peace among its citizens? Ignorance is the cause of people's hatred. Take a look at Dr. Laura for instance. You can read about her comments yourself, I'm not going to go into it. Also, how can you blame Muslims for trying to spread Islam's true meaning? Are all American's sane? Are all 50,000+ sects of Christianity all peaceful, and not violent? The day you give me that response is the day you can call your mission of bringing down CAIR justified.

     Thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts with us.  These are a few things you may not know:

1.  CAIR representatives have stated on many occasions that they wish to convert the government of the United States into an Islamic theocracy.  This is in direct opposition to the Constitution which requires the government to be neutral in religious affairs.

2.  Several top leaders of CAIR are currently awaiting trial on charges of supporting Islamist terrorism. 

3.  The fact of the matter is that the US is the superpower of the world.  If our government fails to use that power to protect us from Islamic terror, the people of the United States will search for leaders who will.  President Bush and his cabinet are carrying out the will of the people to defend our peoples from Islamist, and other, terror.

4.  Israel is a multi-cultural democracy in the Middle East, the ONLY democratic government in that region.  In addition, Muslims (and other religions) are permitted to run for the legislature and to vote in elections.  Can you name one Islamic country that is a democracy?  When is the last time a Jew was elected to office in an Islamic country?  Americans will always support a democracy against a dictatorship. 

5.  The people of “Palestine” are not being oppressed by the Jews.  They are being oppressed by their own government which pays for suicide bombers, but will not pay to pick up trash or provide good hospitals for their people.  If you want to stop violence in the Middle East and help the Palestinian people, you must destroy Hamas and other Islamist terror groups.  The Palestinians have been betrayed by their religious leaders and people like Arafat, who is an insult to peace-loving people everywhere.

6.  Israel has won all three wars waged by Arab countries since its founding.  Israel has the power, today, to destroy any (or all) of the Arab countries in the Middle East.  Why don’t they do that, as the Arabs have tried to do to them?  Simple: the Israeli’s respect international obligations and the Palestinian leadership doesn’t.  The people of “Palestine” should be very glad that the government of Israel wishes for peace.  If the government of Israel was like the government of “Palestine”, “Palestine” would be finished in less than one day. 

7.  The Hamas and Fatah terrorists hide behind children when they fight and are basically cowards.  They are all perfectly willing to sacrifice other people’s children as terrorist bombers, but not their own.  Arafat’s wife and child live like royalty in France, spending almost 100,000 dollars a month just on hotel rooms.  How many Palestinians could be provided good schooling and health care with that money?  In addition, when is the last time you heard of a prominent Palestinian leader sending their child off to be a murder bomber?  NEVER!  Why?  If they are leaders, they should be the first to blow themselves up, right?  Why aren’t their children sent to fight or bomb?  Why doesn’t Arafat send his daughter to fight in the intifada?  Why does Arafat’s wife live in France?   

8.  CAIR is not a peaceful organization.  CAIR supports Islamist terror in word and deed.  Every time a Muslim in this country is arrested for terrorism, CAIR immediately jumps to their defense, regardless of guilt.  The leadership of CAIR is founded in Islamist terrorism and wishes to bring this terrorism to the United States.

9.  ACAIR is not concerned with Christian sect’s.  These groups represent a very small threat to our country and are being handled properly by the authorities.  ACAIR condemns all religious terrorism, but we are focused on Islamist terrorism.  As for Dr. Laura, we support her comments and believe her response was proper.    

     ACAIR will fight CAIR until CAIR is destroyed.  We have no wish to see our families and country destroyed by Islamist terrorism.  We demand the right to worship our God as we see fit and have no desire to see Islam imposed by threat of force on the United States. 

     We have seen with our own eyes what Islam has done to the majority of Islamic countries and we have no wish to see it here.  The people of the United States firmly believe in freedom of religion, CAIR does not.  CAIR’s leadership is a collection of religious perverts who pimp Islam for the purpose of destroying our country.  With God’s help, we will stop them.

     We believe that every government supporting religious terrorism is not legitimate and does not deserve the support/recognition of the US government.  For that reason, we do not believe the “government” of “Palestine” is legitimate and that the US government is wrong to enter into negotiations with it. 

     We call on the governments of the United States and Israel to cease negotiating until such time as the Palestinian “leadership” renounces terrorism and halts terrorist attacks on Israel for a minimum period of two years. 

     We hope this ends any confusion on the part of our readers as to where ACAIR stands on the issue of state-sponsored religious terrorism.
