This statement has, once again, turned out to
be another of CAIR’s patented “non-statements” that sounds good…and
means absolutely nothing. The statement, issued on October 29,
2004 in a
Capitol Hill news conference hosted by CAIR included these
words:
“As leaders of American mosques and
as representatives of the American Muslim community,
we call for the
immediate and unconditional release of all civilian hostages currently
being
held in Iraq, whatever their nationality or faith.”
Powerful statement. Bold. What’s
missing? Could it possibly be that the “hostage takers” are not
identified? Would it be that the Islamic groups responsible are
not identified? …finally, why no mention of the hostage-takers
chopping off the heads of their hostages?
Why no condemnation of the hostage-takers
invoking the name of “Allah” when they slowly cut off the heads of
their terror-stricken hostages, writhing in pain and terror at their
feet to yells of “Allah is great”? CAIR cannot condemn these
people by name? CAIR cannot condemn these terrorist groups by
name? Why not?
CAIR continues:
“The targeting of civilians has
always been prohibited in Islam. Those who kidnap and
murder civilians
are violating Islamic norms and deserve to be repudiated by
Muslims in
America, in Iraq and throughout the Islamic world.”
Another wonderful statement showing CAIR’s
newly discovered concern for Muslim civilians? We thought so too,
at first. However, CAIR says they “deserve to be repudiated”…but
they don’t repudiate them....Why not?
Isn’t this the same as repudiating a
"white-power" group, but failing to mention the Ku Klux Klan, or its
members/leaders? Why can’t CAIR’s leadership bring themselves to
“repudiate” just one barbaric beheading by an Islamic terrorist and
mention the name of the Islamic terrorist and their group?
At the end of their release, CAIR writes:
“It is time for all parties to the tragic
conflict in Iraq to end any actions that result in
harm to the civilian
population and the destruction of property. Reports now
indicate that
some 100,000
Iraqi civilians have died as a result of the invasion
of
Iraq. All human beings, whether hostages or ordinary Iraqis, have
a
right to life and liberty that must be protected.”
This is another of CAIR’s “woe is Islam”
statements. Read the last sentence…CAIR includes hostages and
ordinary Iraqis as those having a right to life and liberty…and says
absolutely nothing about the life and liberty of those coalition troops
fighting…and dieing…to protect “ordinary Iraqis”.
Once again, CAIR has clearly demonstrated to
freedom loving peoples worldwide just where they stand in the global
war against Islamic terrorism.
