Dear Mr. Whitehead:

 
          I represent the Council on American-lslamic Relations Inc (CAIR).   I have reviewed a large number of your "ACAIR" web postings and have advised CAIR that they are defamatory, Several of many examples follow:



CAIR is a fundamentalist organization dedicated to the overthrow of the United States Constitution and the installation of an islamic theocracy in America.

Let their be no doubt that CAIR is a terrorist supporting front   organization that is partially funded by terrorists, and that CAIR wishes nothing more than the implementation of a SHARIA law in American. ACAIR, August 13, 2003, Press Release.


ACAIR reminds our readers that CAIR was started by Hamas members and is supported by terrorists supporting individuals groups and countries. ACAIR June 14 2003 Press Release.


Why oppose CAIR? CAIR has proven links to and was founded by  Islamic terrorists.  CAIR is not in the United States to promote the civil rights of  Muslims. CAIR is here to make radical Islam the dominant religion in the United States and to convert our country into an Islamic theocracy along the lines of Iran. In addition CAIR has managed. through the adroit manipulation of the popular media to present itself as the "moderate" face of Islam in the United States. CAIR succeeded to the point that the majority of its members are not aware that CAIR actively supports terrorists and terrorist supporting groups and nations.      The ACAIR web site has repeatedly insinuated that CAIR, the leading mainstream Islamic organization in the country, provides support to terrorist organizations. As you are no doubt aware providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization or even attempting to do so is a felony under Title 18   Section 2339B(a)(1) of the United States Code.


     While you certainly have a right to express your opinions, as sociopathic and xenophobic as they may be, you do not have the right to make false statements of fact injurious to another's reputation. The writings on your web site go far, far beyond the mere expression of opinion. They are false statements of fact imputing criminal acts made with reckless disregard for the truth.
     

     Notwithstanding that no law enforcement agency in the United States has seen fit to charge CAIR with any offense of any kind you have persisted in accusing CAIR of treasonous felonies. As you presumably also know falsely imputing the commission of a criminal offense involving moral turpitude for which one could be indicted and punished is libelous per se. Statements which are libelous per se can result in the imposition of not only compensatory damages, but also punitive damages, which it might interest you to know cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.


     Accordingly, l have advised CAIR to file a defamation suit against you, and any person who has facilitated in any way your publication of these statements.


      Notwithstanding my recommendation, in lieu of a lawsuit CAIR has asked me to give you the opportunity to voluntarily cease and desist the publication of defamatory statements about CAIR on your web site and elsewhere. If you persist in the publication of defamatory remarks about CAIR or if you elect to publish this personal and confidential letter to any person. suit will be filed forthwith.


     Govern yourself accordingly.
